OMG! The Best The Annual Champions Boat League Kerala: 2022 Ever!



Champions Boat League (CBL) is the annual boat race in Kerala. It is a competition of several events such as rowing, sculling, and sailboat racing. The CBL was started in 2012 by the Kerala Sports Council.

The first edition of the Champions Boat League was held on 22nd December 2012 at Kochi's Cochin International Water Sports Complex. The event was organised to promote sports among school students and to encourage them to participate in sports. The CBL is now an annual event that takes place over four days, with more than 200 athletes participating in each event. The competition attracts both local and international participants from around the world. A total of 300 boats participated in the first edition of CBL which saw total prize money of Rs 1 crore distributed amongst winners across categories according to their performances in different events. Champions Boat League is one of the most popular sporting events in Kerala which has helped nurture a healthy spirit of competition amongst participants and spectators who come together for this annual contest."


The event was started by an entrepreneur named K.K. Muthuvelan, who wanted to create a sports event that would attract tourists and give people in the area something fun to do in the summer months. The first Champions Boat League took place in 2002, with only four teams competing—and they were all local teams! Since then, though, many more players have been involved, including international competitors from China, Japan, and Australia.
