It is a competition of several events such as rowing, sculling, and sailboat racing. The CBL was started in 2012 by the Kerala Sports Council. The first edition of the Champions Boat League was held on 22nd December 2012 at Kochi's Cochin International Water Sports Complex. The event was organised to promote sports among school students and to encourage them to participate in sports. The CBL is now an annual event that takes place over four days, with more than 200 athletes participating in each event. The competition attracts both local and international participants from around the world.
